This is the first bike rack I’ve ever used, so I can only speak from a beginner’s perspective, but here’s what stood out.
Assembly was fairly straightforward, though the included instructions were off enough that I had to rely on YouTube videos to understand a few steps. One helpful tip I picked up: assemble the rack while it’s mounted on the vehicle’s hitch. Trying to put it together on the ground with all the large pieces was much harder.
We carry two identical Fuell e‑bikes, and loading the second bike took some trial and error. The handlebars hit each other at first, so I had to lower the outer rack arm and lean the outer bike over to clear the inner one. Later we learned it’s easier to leave the inner bike’s center support down and lean it gently against the rear window — that made loading much smoother.
Our bikes just fit. The rear tire doesn’t sit on the front of the tie‑down; it has to sit behind it, but that hasn’t caused any issues. The tie‑downs themselves work like heavy‑duty zip ties and feel very secure. We drove about 30 minutes with no rattling or loosening.
I’m not a fan of the center rack tie‑down. It gets in the way when raising or lowering the center support, and I have to remove it completely to get full movement. I also leave it off when not in use so it doesn’t fall off or get stolen.
The ramp is usable but tight. Our bikes are at the upper size limit for this rack, so the tire slightly blocks the ramp’s mounting holes. My wife can’t get the ramp on or off because of the tight fit. The ramp does fold and stores easily in the vehicle.
The hitch design uses threads on both sides to pull the rack tight into the receiver and prevent rattling — a smart idea, but the 4–5" bolt is tedious to reach. I didn’t have a socket large enough for the hex head and had to use an adjustable wrench, which made threading it painfully slow. The manual lists incorrect sizes, so your hardware may differ as well. I eventually found one SAE socket that fits, and for removal I now use an impact wrench, which makes it much faster.
I also purchased the hitch lock separately.
Overall, we’re satisfied — especially at the price we paid. Competing racks were much more expensive, and since we weren’t sure how often we’d be taking bike trips, this felt like the right balance of cost and capability.
I am very pleased with the ebike rack I purchased. Being of an engineering mind I quickly saw how much thought and engineering went into the design.
It is rugged and does a great job of transporting our 2 Lectric bikes. See pix
I did some research and found that this hitch was the best fit for my 2E bikes as well as the price point was very attractive
It only took me about 15 minutes to assemble this hitch rack. It’s very solid very secure and I’m happy with my purchase.
This was a prefect purchase for my son's ebike! Fast shipping and easy to use rack . Affordable and durable as well. Love that the rack folds up when not in use. Great addition to our family suv.
Awesome rack. Tool about an hour to assemble. First impression was the thickness and quality of the material. Assembled and installed on hitch by myself. E-bike store was skeptical when I told them the price. The racks they had in store were two and up to three times the price. There assumptions were that at the price of this rack it would lack quality. When they were with me when we installed the E bike on the rack they were extremely impressed at the firmness and quality of this rack. Rack.Recommend rating if 6 out of five.
We love it. We are both in our 60s and loading two electric bikes into our trucks is becoming to heavy for us. We ordered the three bike rack so we can take an extra person if needed. It's super convenient and fair price.
Very sturdy rack
Very easy to put ebikes on and off
Only complaint i have is that the anti wobble bolt is bending the tubing (not strong enough)
love this new rack so far. There’s still a little wobble but over all it’s great. I don’t store the ramp on the rack as it’s very loosey goosey but have no problem storing it in the hatch, thus 4 points over 5.
Very solid build that fits varied bicycles from my 4.8” tired fat bike (not an ebike) to my 1.9”tired electric gravel bike. Very happy
I recently picked up the Outfitr Single Bike Fat Tire Bike Rack and overall I’m really happy with it. If you’re looking for a lightweight, easy-to-manage rack that handles everyday use well, this one hits a lot of the right notes.
What I like:
Super lightweight: One of the first things I noticed is how easy it is to handle. Loading it into the car or moving it around the garage is a breeze compared to some of the heavier racks I’ve used before.
Built-in ramp is a game changer: The attached ramp makes loading a fat tire bike so much easier. You don’t have to muscle the bike up into place — you just roll it up. For someone who’s dealt with awkward lifting before, this is a standout feature.
What to watch out for:
Fit with larger bikes: While it works great with most fat tire bikes, if you’ve got an especially large frame or really wide tires the fit can be a bit snug. It’s not a deal-breaker, but definitely something to check if your bike is oversized or you’re planning to upgrade to a monster rig in the future.
Bottom line:
This rack is a solid choice if you want lightweight convenience with thoughtful features like the ramp. Just make sure to double-check the dimensions if your bike is on the larger side.
Excellent product, exactly what I needed. Using it to haul our e-bikes when we go camping. It saves me from lifting them into the bed and over the 5th wheel hitch (front receiver was installed) . And it folds up out of the way when we are at the site.
I can drive knowing my eBikes are safe, with very strong heavy-duty construction, minimal wobble, and easy to use when put together. The directions could use an upgrade, as they make it very difficult to assembl, even for a technical engineer.
Thank you to OutfitR for the chance to use this well designed and capable eBike rack. The included ramp makes loading and unloading of eBikes very easy, and the bikes sits very securely in the rack when motoring.
At a plus 50 pounds be aware that you might like a buddy to help you put the bike ramp on your vehicle....a single person can do this but it is hefty.
The rack will fold up and down to store securely against your vehicle in a parking lot or when driving with no bikes. You can also fold the rack down to allow access to the vehicle trunk, although I'd recommend doing this without any bicycles on the rack!
Very good design to finish this review!
Took a chance on an internet order for a product I'd never seen, based on reviews. My order arrived on time and was fairly simple to assemble by myself with help from an easy to find YouT*be video. I was immediately impressed with how sturdy and solid the materials are. When put together and loaded with my 75-lb mountain e-bike, and taken for a test drive, it performed splendidly. No shaking, wobbling, bouncing. The included ramp is a game-changer for lil' ol' me. LOVE.
We bought an e-bike about 4 years ago. When we go camping it goes into the back floor area of a truck. It is so heavy that my husband couldn't lift it by himself and it was still difficult with the both of us. The roads where we live are not safe for riding. This bike rack was the answer to our problems. I am able to roll the bike onto this bike rack, secure it and go. I can use my care and not depend on my husband. I love my bike and didn't want to sell it.
This Bike Rack makes life easier! I can load 3 different bikes by myself with ease. After removing your bikes, using the convenient loading ramp which comes with the unit, you can just fold the rack up and out of harms way.
Having had a different rack I can compare this. This one is incredibly sturdy and more compact when folded up against the back of a vehicle. Love the color, too. The handle is to frosting! It's less invasive and holds our heavy e-bikes over steep climbs and rough roads, even at high speeds. The independent ramp is a plus because it can be folded down and stored in your vehicle to keep it clean.
We bought this to put on the back of my subaru forester. When we went to pick up our electric bikes, the bike dealer mentioned that that is the sturdiest bike rack system. He has ever seen.
Installed this jack on my race trailer. I've been wanting to add one for a while and wish I'd done it sooner. Easy install. Comes with manual handle, and work light, adjustable foot.
This bike rack is specifically made for E-Bikes so i felt extra comfortable using it for my regular non E-Bikes
Looked long and hard for a bike rack rated for my new ebike weighing 60 lbs. Lots of options but purchased the two bike rack with ramp. Very pleased with the quality and ease of loading my ebike using the ramp. Highly recommend for the quality and price. First bike ride in over a decade and look forward to using my OUTFITR easy loading ebike rack for future travel adventures.
We purchased this Outfitr 2-Bike Hitch E-Bike Rack to transport our new e-bikes, and overall, we are very impressed with its strength and ease of use. My bike is a large 26-inch frame with 4-inch fat tires, and my wife’s is a bit smaller; together, they weigh roughly 140 lbs. This rack handles that weight with ease, feeling exceptionally sturdy and secure.
Assembly and Loading:
Easy Setup: Most of the parts come pre-assembled, so getting it ready for the vehicle was extremely simple and straightforward.
Effortless Loading: The included ramp is a lifesaver. Loading heavy e-bikes can be a chore, but using the ramp makes it nearly effortless to get them onto the trays.
Versatile Cradles: The 5-inch wide steel trays and movable cradles easily accommodated my fat tires and the different wheelbases of our two bikes.
Daily Use and Functionality:
The fold and tilt capability is one of my favorite features. Being able to tilt the rack down even when the bikes are fully loaded is a huge plus—it allows me to open the rear hatch of my SUV without any clearance issues. When we aren't using the rack, it folds up against the vehicle easily with one hand.
Important Observations:
While we love the rack, there are two minor issues with the ramp system and one safety consideration for those with larger bikes:
Ramp Storage: There is no dedicated way to stow the ramp on the rack itself once the bikes are loaded. I’ve ended up just tossing it into the back seat of the car.
Ramp Removal: Because my bike has an extremely large wheelbase, I found it somewhat cumbersome and difficult to remove the ramp once the bike was loaded and secured.
Width: With my larger bike, the rear wheel extends almost 2 feet beyond the width of the car. You definitely need to keep this extra clearance in mind when driving and parking.
Verdict:
Despite these small concerns, none of them are deal-breakers. The "Anti-falloff" and "anti-wobble" structures really do keep the bikes from swaying on the road, even on rougher terrain. If you need a rack with a superb 200 lb total capacity and a user-friendly design, this is a fantastic investment!
